The Recording Club
Platinum Membership · Prepared for James Tyler Guitars

Word of mouth in the rooms
built the brand. We are
those rooms, now.

For twenty years James Tyler Guitars spread only because Michael Landau, Dann Huff and Neil Stubenhaus kept turning up on records playing them. The Recording Club runs on that exact mechanism: gear belongs in rooms, in sessions, in hands. Platinum introduces the brand to the next wave of those players in the only way it has ever spread, and the doors below are already built. Click anything.

The James Tyler build

Studio Elites, back in the rooms that made the brand

Our members are the same constituency that built the reputation: LA session guitarists on paid dates. Four things Platinum builds for James Tyler Guitars, all included.

Studio Elites on the tracking-room wall

Studio Elites go on the wall of our main tracking room, so the next wave of session players picks one up at work, mid-session, rather than reading about it. That is the exact mechanism that built the brand, running in the present.

Featured, then followed up

The guitars are featured on the wall, and we print a James Tyler look book for the building. When a player picks one up after a session and asks, staff hand them the book and send them to the shop.

A James Tyler owners app

Because every Tyler is one of one, the app keeps the build sheet, the finish and the provenance attached to the serial forever. The full vision is on the app board. We shipped the same kind of app for Darryl Jones's bass owners, so yours is a build, not a promise.

A room to play before you order

Nobody orders a built-to-order guitar they have never held. A Google Maps pin at the club, thirty five minutes from the shop, becomes the place a player can pick up a Studio Elite, on real sessions, before they spec their own.

The list is not fixed. Platinum means the club's design and engineering team works for James Tyler Guitars. Sites and apps are designed and built at no cost, then maintained at $70 an hour, half our public rate. You build each guitar to order, by hand; we hold the build to the same standard.

The vision · live and clickable

A vision for tylerguitars.com

Your site is already clean, so this is a repositioning, not a rescue: 15 pages that make a quiet legacy legible, with the guitars carrying every drop of colour. Click anything and walk through it.

Proof

We already did this for the Rolling Stones’ bassist

Darryl Jones, bassist for the Rolling Stones, joined Platinum. The club rebuilt his company's website, shipped an iPhone app for the players who own his basses, and designed the wall where his basses will sell in the building. All of it included in his membership. Read the full case study.

The club itself

And the studio is still the studio

Everything above sits on top of the core of Platinum: the best rooms in the building, whenever you want them. See them all at therecording.club/studios.

Put Studio Elites on the wall

Walk the building with us. We'll hang a few Studio Elites in the tracking room, hear how the shop runs, and sketch your build before you leave.
